You ever been somewhere?.. travelling... going to places far from home.. or even studying somewhere else.
Learning is a process of life, its what makes you more mature and knowledgeable as your age keep going.
Have you notice that a place far from our home, they have different culture, different routines and skill sets perhaps.. different way of doing things.
As you wandering in your life, you will pass through so many doors, and its up to you to see it and open it. These doors are the learning opportunity. It is such a waste if you pass these doors not knowing they exist. Especially those who only lie in a particular time or place.
I'm giving example from my point of view, as I'm studying in India, there's so many thing I think I can learn here that I didn't get the chance in my country:
1. Playing cricket- it may sound silly but in Malaysia I rarely see anyone play cricket but in India cricket is everywhere, so while I'm here why don't I learn cricket.
2. Riding superbike- this sounds more silly but in Malaysia big bikes are expensive and not everyone can afford it at my age. Fortunately in India they are cheap even I can get one. I was scared at first as I never ride one before, but I thought hey if I don't learn now, I might not get the chance again.
3. Language, cultures, foods.. - these are all common sense if you live in a country but not learning them, then its the same as you just stay in your own place.
4. Making friends- even this is a process of learning, get to know other people. Then you will know generally how people and that place are.
actually theres so many more, but I'm not writing this to talk about myself, i just want to remind everyone that don't look at a door and pass it.. learn when you have the chance.
I'm saying this because, in my experience I saw many people that hem in theirselves in a group of their own people when they went other places. They don't talk to locals, didn't try to speak their languages, not interested in learning others culture or whatever that place give them. Hell if you are this kind of people you better just stay in your place and don't go anywhere. Experience is also learning, the more you do, the more things you try, the more points you will get, the higher your level (gamely speaking).
So if you get a chance to study abroad, or going somewhere far from holiday, take my advice- There a lot of things to uncover. Don't be too shy, have confidence in yourself, participate in lot of things, mix with the locals, don't forget to try.. open a door. Opportunity wont always come. Live your life to its fullest.
